Da Hong Pao/ Big Red Robe is a prestigious Wuyi Oolong tea. It is a premium variety of the Wu Yi Yan Cha (Wu Yi Rock Tea) group of oolong. According to legend, the mother of a Ming Dynasty emperor was cured of an illness by a certain tea, and that emperor sent great red robes to clothe the four bushes from which that tea originated. Three of these original bushes, growing on a rock on Mount Wuyi and reportedly dates back to the Song Dynasty still survive today and are highly venerated. Known for its highly expensive value, Da Hong Pao is always sort after as an exlusive tea.

Our Da Hong Pao was planted in Mount Wuyi by our own farmers who has been in this tea business for generations. This tea has the typical Rock Oolong Tea Look: Dark and slightly curled leave; Its brew is lightly reddish brown; it has roasted, nutty and light sweetness in flavour followed by lingering aftertaste.

Da Hong Pao due to its rare and precious, it can be sold up to $1 million in history for the supreme quality. 

 

Brewing Instruction:

Yixing Clay tea pot or Porcelain Gaiwan is an ideal for this type of tea. Rinse teapot with boiled water first and then add in 2-5 gram tea leave for about 300ml capacity teapot. Steeping the first brew for 30 seconds up to 1m; The same leave can be brewed up to 6 times and each steeping time can be extended to extra 30seconds compared to the previuos brew.
